Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy

The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy provides an opportunity for local chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to enrich and enhance the education that our young females (ages 11-14) receive in public schools across the nation. Specifically, the Columbia (MD) Alumnae Chapter (CAC) prepares young girls for full participation as leaders in the 21st Century by:

  • Augmenting the girls’ scholarship in the fields of math, science, and technology;
  • Enhancing the girls’ opportunities to provide service in the form of leadership through service learning, and;
  • Increasing the girls’ sisterhood defined as the cultivation and maintenance of relationships

To accomplish this goal, CAC plans and implements numerous activities and projects for its participants throughout the year.
