Greetings,

It is an honor to serve as the President of the Columbia (MD) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as we commemorate our 50th anniversary since June 17, 1971. The vision of the twenty-two chartered members have had a tremendous impact on the Howard County community. From the Chapter’s inception, it has focused on Delta’s five programmatic thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. These initiatives address Delta’s mission statement to focus primarily on the needs of the Black community.

The Columbia (MD) Alumnae Chapter is excited to embark on this 50th anniversary milestone. This celebration demonstrates our level of commitment to our community partners and sponsors to provide continuous resources for the future. It is also an opportunity to engage our members in our sisterhood and to reflect on the vision of our founders. As part of this celebration, the Chapter will highlight our chartered visionaries, historical artifacts, community service, and several special tributes.

It is with our collective commitment that we can truly make a difference in our community.
